This is Roger Federer kissing the Wimbledon Cup for the 5th time in the role! Wah, I was thinking to myself, would I want to train so hard just to get the title 5 times or many times more. Well, I guess in the sporting field, the only objective is to attain the trophies within a particular sport.
I was trying to draw parallels to our Christian walk. My ultimate goal is to be like Christ. And at the same time reaching the lost with the Gospel to bring eternal salvation to them. How much do I want to attain the crown of righteousness from God? If I do want it very much, then how hard am I training myself to get it?
Paul Said this: 1Co 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1Co 9:25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 1Co 9:26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 1Co 9:27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
I am learning to be a man training in God.
